Radically accelerating the world’s renewable transition
Green Gravity uses disused mines to store energy. This allows renewable energy to be used when it is needed.
Our technology
Green Gravity’s technology raises and lowers heavy weights in a mine shaft to capture and release the gravitational energy of the weights.

Green Gravity has commenced regional studies, minesite concept engineering, and local community engagement in Mount Isa for the deployment of up to 2 GWh of gravitational energy storage in North West Queensland.
Our technology provides low-cost, flexible and ultra-green energy storage.

Circular
Driving circular economic value by reusing old mine shafts to support green energy.
Flexible
Provides short or mid duration storage or grid ancillary services.

Sustainable
Low noise, small land use, no water, chemicals, or destruction of farmland. Our technology can be fully recycled, unlike battery options.

Local
Locally sourced materials, supply chain and workforce create economic value in the local community.

Low-Cost
Offering attractive economics due to reuse of infrastructure, high efficiency, low operating and maintenance costs and long life of the asset.

Long Life
Our system does not degrade, meaning we invest once to match long run energy security needs, avoiding the costly performance degradation of batteries.
